We switched hostels in Rio on Wednesday morning. Our second hostel was just a block from Ipanema beach. We made Wednesday our Rio beach day. Ipanema is a beatiful beach. We got rolled in some pretty powerful breaking waves. The tide and undertoe criss-cross as waves reflect of the beach at a 45-degree angle. It made for some pretty gnarly body surfing.
