2-days, 4-buses, 2-taxis, and a breakdown later...

I'm in Arequipa, Peru now, after 2 days on the road. Feels good to be here... finally. From Salta, Argentina, I went north through Chile and the Atacama desert, salt flats, up through Peru. I think I read that the Atacama is the driest desert in the world. Here's some pics that I took along the way, so that you all have an idea about the landscapes in this region.

Also, Pullman bus sucks. Don't use them. We broke down in the middle of the desert for 10 hours. They didn't give us any food or
water with the rescue bus... 30 hours in total for the trip to Arica, Chile. Everyone was hungry and thirsty and cold, and the Pullman folks couldn't have cared less.
