Just like in Europe, many towns/cities have a nice church/cathedral. Jau has one too. Since I'm running low on material, here are some pictures of the Catholic church in Jau. It is big and beatiful, and it lies at the center of the city. The praca, or public square & park is located directly in front of the church. Lot's of stores line the streets surrounding the church. This is the center of life and commerce here in Jau. This is a very typical city plan in Brazil.
