I cooked a big Sunday Lunch lunch today for the fam... American style. I cooked a pot roast. Unfortunately, it wasn't as good as my slow-cooker pot roast. I didn't have the equipment. I did make a tasty onion-cabernet gravy from the drippings though. It was the first time I made gravy, and it tuned out pretty well.
I did green beans, mashed potatoes, and carrots/onions (cooked with the roast) for sides. For the green beans, I tried a recipe that I looked up on the internet. I simmered the beans in chicken stock with minced garlic for about an hour. They turned out very good too.
Sorry, I don't have pictures. I left my camera at the apartment.
